U R Loved

I've been loving getting up each morning and having the library all setup. I've been wanting a place like this for so long.

Today I was looking back through some of my books and I came across this quote from Henry Nouwen and I want to encourage all of you to look for a time this weekend, whether you're out shooting a wedding or whether you're at home with your family, to get yourself to a place where you can show someone that they are loved. I'm sure it will change their world - and yours.

Hey DJ, this is great!
Which one of his books is this? I'll be picking up some books on Sunday and would love to check it out.
Thanks!

that's so weird, I was just looking at an artist-friend's blog and her new work has messages like "everything is going to be fine" in it. it made me think about how I've been noticing a LOT of new art has these reassurance-type of messages in it... last night I was at an opening that had things like stamps and buttons for sale that said, "everything will be okay" and "don't be afraid" and "you can do this", etc etc. I also have friends who have been getting inspirational tattoos that say similar things, to remind themselves to be unafraid.
I find it very weird/ interesting... and none of the people I'm talking about are Christians (I'm not either), but I think it's so cool that this is becoming an acceptable, popular kind of statement to make. the end of the uber-ironic era!
okay, that's all :)

What a great room! That's one of my dreams to have a specified "library" in my house someday. Well, first of all, it's a dream to own a house!

Regardless: that's awesome, and P.S. I underline and write random things in the margins of my books too. My most-destroyed book is the "Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. Marks EVERYWHERE! I love it.

Thanks for sharing.

I love Henri Nowen! Have you read Life of the Beloved? Great Book! The writings of Jean Vanier (Nowen's friend...and founder of the L'Arche Communities) are great as well.

I'm so with you on this. I love Nouwen. "In the Name of Jesus" is one of the best books ever and I force myself to read it at least once per year. Pursue the desire to be irrelevant in the eyes of man...it's way too easy to forget that.

Rodolfo...the title is "In the Name of Jesus". One of the best ever!
