Pictures of the devastation

Live streaming video by Ustream

Tonight I got my first peak up at my house which was relatively untouched. One side of my yard got torched and the wooden stairs leading down to my house caught fire and it's a pretty amazing story because a guy from my church, Everett, was assigned to turn off all the gas lines up in my neighborhood and so he swung by my house and noticed that my stairs were on fire so he hosed them off and put the fire out! Isn't that incredible!

My neighbors weren't so lucky. 4 out of the 8 houses on my culdesac are completely gone. Here are some pictures I snapped today.

I kept checking back to see when you'd have pics... How heartbreaking. I hope that people didn't have too many valuable things inside their homes. So many people do, though.

And ok... a guy from yoru church put the fire out on your STEPS??? That could have went right up into your house and burned everything!! Incredible. A true miracle that he was assigned to your neighborhood.

I read in the comments below it was an arsonist? Oh man... Wouldn't wanna be that dude. Burning down spendy houses isn't really the smartest thing to do, let alone burning down ANY house. Hello...doesn't he know that there are arson detectives?? Might not be easy, but I hope they catch him (or her).

Like Mike Colon say's you truly are the Golden Boy, An insurance agent spraying foam, a passerby putting out the fire on the stairs, the main part of the fire line just stopping by your house?? You must have bigger things to do in the comming months you were obviously spared a lot of aggrivation.

It's so hard to rejoice when others around you have been so destroyed. But it's also an amazing story and a true source of inspiration to others.

I'm glad you and freedom house were sparred.

There's a lot of work to do in your neighborhood. Rebuilding not only homes but lives.

DJ, your life is never short of interesting and adventurous! It is a true blessing that your house was spared by having such great people in the right place at the right time. At the same time it is tough to see what your neighbors are going through with their losses. I hope and pray for all of you!

You absolutely deserve the protection you got, man. I sure don't think it's just coincidental that your house is still standing.

And just so you know, it was my prayer that pushed God over the edge on saving your house. You can make it up to me later...

Bobby
