I'm so thankful for RAW processing because even though I love photography and looking at cool images I really don't like spending a lot of time editing my own pictures. So tonight I had a wedding to blast through and I've been working on saving some very customized .xmp files and it makes it so easy and almost mindless. I seriously watch a movie while I edit because everything is just click of a button.
Tonight was a smaller batch of 1074 pictures and I was able to get through it in 2 hours and 7 minutes. Not bad but I was spending some time making food and also making more .xmp files that I'll be able to use to speed up future weddings.
Here is my list:

Self-employment rocks. The best boss to have is yourself.
Sounds like a good challenge! Have you tried using Gary Fong's new Bullzeye3 software yet? Interested in hearing your thoughts on his color correction techniques vs. photoshop's tools before I buy it. Any preferences?
I used to be self-employed, too, but my boss was such a jerk!
Oh, to be under 30 and male.
All I can think of when I read your post is, not how much time you saved by your brilliance, but how envious I am of the kind, and amount food you consume.
i'm not there just yet, but my time is less and less each week. plus my first automated flow wedding that i released to the client before they were home from the honeymoon LOVED their pix!!!! i am getting my life back. i'm just doing it in jpg.
Wow. That's all. Wow.
So, DJ...are you ever going to share with us just what this magical workflow is?
I just designed 40 album pages in 2 hours (-: Now I just hope I don't come back tomorrow and hate them....
