The past couple of nights I haven't been able to sleep. I don't know
why but what do you do when you can't sleep?

I read my bible, and then pray for everyone who comes into my head, and cover myself, husband and kids in prayer, sleep then comes a little easier than it would if i was laying their contempating why im not sleeping. Even if you dont find sleep, you feel great about what you read, and you know it was time with God. And if you do find sleep but wake up groggy, what you read is still there with ya! I'm done! 'o)

Try breathing through your nose and out through your mouth and only concentrate on that. It works everytime, and it's also good if your in labor he he..

I watch the episodes of Desperate Housewives that have been building up on my DVR. It gets my mind off the fact that I can't make myself fall asleep. Then I have a better chance of falling asleep on the couch.

I write about not sleeping. Or do business accounting paperwork, that'll put you out fast.

When I can't sleep at 2 or 3am I got up and clean my house or do some kind of work on the computer. I figure if I'm not gonna sleep, I might as well be productive.

Hey Bro,

here is a verse I came upon that has helped me...

Psalm 127:2

"it is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep"

- check it out... bread of sorrow... maybe translated in our time as "stress" or just thinking to much. but what ever the case is.. it is vain! But the good news is that Jesus loves us and gives us Sweet Sleep !

Be Blessed in your sleep this week man.

Oh and end me an email when you can. would like to chat with you about something.

Cheers,
Rockie

honestly i really do count sheep...it's the only thing that's worked for me ever since i was a kid. I close my eyes and focus on only the sheep, before i know it i'm fast asleep and can never remember what number i got too!

Melatonin is cheap and you can buy it everywhere. It's a natural supplement that can help you sleep.
Magnesium is also really good for relaxing your muscles. Get the one where you dissolve it in hot/warm water. After 30 minutes or so you feel like spaghetti :) hehe

Work out. Hard. If you're physically exhausted your mind can't keep you awake, though it might try. ;)

Weird..... the past few nights I HAVE been able to sleep!!
Technically, I've been able to go to sleep... just not at the normal time. Since WPPI last year, my sleep schedule has been way off.

For a month or so, when I was trying to fix my schedule, I tried drinking wine before bed.... and then I realized that was probably not a good habit... and since I wasn't tired at that time, it didn't actually help anyway!

I always need white noise to sleep (I use a fan). A glass of heated up milk, or chamomile tea and a warm pack (that I heat up in the microwave) have been helping me the past few nights. It also helps to not be in front of the computer or TV for at least an hour before bed. I read a psychology study once, where they had two groups of people. For one group, they put this band around their knee, and it had little this light behind their knee (really weird, right?). Apparently, these people had a more difficult time going to sleep because their bodies were affected by the lights -- even if it wasn't shining in their eyes... it was simply behind their knee. That's the gist of the study, anyway. Super weird.

Also, counting backwards from 200 or 300 never seems to fail, if even you're somewhat tired.

Since I axed wireless internet, I do more sleeping, though!

I second Kimberlee! It's going to be a full moon and people don't sleep as much then.
