Who wants normal?

I had a great conversation with my friend Jaime Rau, who is a wedding photography and the road manager for Sara Groves...and we were talking about how crazy all of our lives are now days and how nothing seems to be "normal."

Then we got to thinking - who really wants a normal life anyway?

There's a great saying,

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!"

Are you living or simply existing? Are you watching life go by and having a "near life experience" - Step out of your comfort zone! you don't have to start big but do something different - something scary - something where you can't control the outcome.

You'll be thankful you did.

Great quote! When I was little, my Mom used to tell me..."

Never be normal. Normal is just a cycle on the washing machine."

Needless to say, I took her advice to heart ;-)

DJ, an exciting life lived for God is indeed not normal, but thrilling! Thrilling is "my normal!" Normal is a personal thing...

Enjoyed dinner last night with all of you here in San Antonio! Hey, I LOVE Sara Groves and have met her on a couple of occasions. Her music totally totally rocks! I had a video of her talking about her "Other Side of Something" on my blog recently....
Great post!

" normal" is touted all through school. then people kinda' crash in their late 20's when, they feel like they are the only ones careening along. great post.

seeing Tim Halberg in the Wall Street Journal when I arrived at my firm this morning was not normal, but made my day. Way to catch that guy stealing your paper!

Normal sucks.

Sort of reminds me of asking someone how thery're doing, and they say something like, "ohh, I'm sooooo busy!" As if that's a bad thing. "Not" busy and "normal" go hand-in-hand. Who wants that?

I hear this is the best way to reach you lately! ;) So, I am coming to SB next week for the PUG Blog Panel. It has been too long since I have been in SB. When do you leave for Paris? E-mail me! I hope I get to see you.

I agree with [b], on that at least! I love life when it is nothing close to normal! However, we are single and without kids. That may change someday. Not likely though. My kids will think normal is boring too! xxoo
