Not Alone

Simple search on Google came across:

"Bliksem Ripped Me Off" from a guy with a strikingly similar story as me.

"fed up with bliksemhosting"

"BliksemHosting Stealing from their old customers!!"

"...And Another"

"Don't trust these crooks named Javier and Christina..."

Rumor has it that Javier Vidueira is trying to start a new company called hostingjoy.com and so it appears he's charging everybody who's credit card he can find to get capital to do it. Even people who haven't been using Bliksem for over a year have been charged.

This is really sad.

DJ.... so glad you looked at your statement. Its really a comfort to know that credit card companies will back you up for any unauthorized charges. Its a pain, but its nice to be able to get your money back. Anyway, not much I can offer in the way of help or recommendations, but THANKS for putting up with all that you do.

Can they keep on charging your credit card????? You may have to cancel it:(

I think if they do it enough times and credit card companies get wind of it, they will actually do something to prevent them from doing that, instead of canceling cards - they'll basically just not let them do any charges. In the meantime, SOO glad you noticed! Man, that just stinks. I'm off to look at my statement now, too.

We're collecting a rather large list of people who've been jacked by this guy and we're definitely gonna go after him.

What's he's doing is very wrong and he's taking advantage of the fact that most people won't do anything about it.

We don't host with them but if there's anything we can do to help, let us know. You have an army behind you.

And I'm with Amy... if this guy has your credit card number and isn't afraid to use it even a year from now, you may have to cancel it. How tragic. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I get mad at people that take advantage of people. You are right; some people just don't do anything about it--Like me. I opened an account for DELL 5yrs ago, and they offered 90days no interest. They lied! But now they are getting sued for all that money they took from thousands of customers. Reason I know, because I got a legal claim notice in the mail.

Glad to know people like you man!

Thanks for fighting! ;)

David, I've been using IX web hosting for a long time now and been really satisfied with them. I don't think I've been down once in 3 years. They are also pretty reasonable. I'm not certain if they have the infrastructure to support what you do, but it would be worth giving them a look.

Feel free to drop me a note if you have questions I can answer. Good Luck,

Michael

DJ - Thank you so much for dealing with this mess just so we can all get our OSP fix ;) You are amazing!

With that said, I just talked to my hubby (who's pretty high up in the cc industry) and he said make sure you call your cc company and claim fraud immediately. Of course, I'm sure you've already done this. But the more it's documented, the more you and many others will have to go after them for their illegal practices. If you have any cc-related questions, feel free to email me and I'll get you the insider info.

And you have all of us behind you 100%!!!

DJ- I can't thank you enough for all that you do. Sorry about all this hassle you have been going through. Frustrations like this can distract from more important things in life. Kind of odd that this all happens just a couple days after where you were on Thanksgiving...Stay positive man.

Also, I trust you have already put in your dispute with the credit cards? Generally, you have 90 days to dispute a charge and you are getting pretty close to that on the first charge.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out.

;)

WOW, sorry you have to deal with this crap! I had a similar experience with a company called www.catalog.com Stay away from them! I repeat, stay away from www.catalog.com!

My current hosting is through www.lunarpages.com and they have been great!

WOW DJ

I read those links this morning and WOW - I'm in shock really! I mean bliksem had a REALLY fantastic reputation! :(

I've backed up the database - but then the site went down. When I can get it back up, I'm going to run that toolbox thing to get us back up for today anyways.

Hey DJ,

Thanks for everything, I'm sure this is a major hassle!

I'm one of those that was itching to buy software yesterday, I kept clicking the email links all day to see if it would start working again... Not complaining at all, just wanted to let you know that if you need any written testimony that this is costing you money I'll be happy to help! Anything else I can do to of course, you do have an army behind you!

I've had good experiences with my hoster, 1and1.com. They are a major service provider to other front end hosting companies and have a solid service for a reasonable price, you might check them out...

Good luck and thanks again!

DJ,

Hey, at least God'll give you a better hosting company! I miss OSP and really appreciate the effort that you put into it. Do get the charges reversed, though...you don't wanna finance the crooks.

I'm so fortunate that my friend is hosting my blog and being super helpful beyond the extra mile.

Oh man, not sure what can be done about insane hosters besides denying them our business and trying to spread the word. Glad to see you blogged about it!
