Your Words

I spent yesterday down at Pictage chatting with Jeff Jochum, Sara France, and Shyla and it was great! One of the things we talked a lot about was language and how words have such a great power to unite or divided people.

Then on the way home I was listening to a presentation by Tony Robbins and he was talking about the same thing! ...and how we have the power to change the way we feel and the way we act and the way others feel and act simply by taking some extra time to think about the words we're using.

So true! I always loved this analogy...

"Take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body..."

You got me thinkin' about words -- and one of my favorite new words this year has been the simple -- YOU ROCK! which we all know is DJ's favorite. I started to think about how good it made me feel when DJ says it to me and I thought - gosh - wonder if I have the same YOU ROCK powers. So I started casually tossing it out there -- (via e-mail at first to build confidence and in case I looked dumb saying it.) In my test trials, I have to report, that YES -- it does appear to really give a little power boost to the receiver and it feels great in my universe too :) I like my new "YOU ROCK" powers and am happy to be spreading the smile. Thanks DJ! it goes without saying....that YOU ROCK!
