This is amazing! I usually just trash forwards but I'm so glad I watched this! WOW! These guys are truly flying! Incredible!
Marie Moyers just sent it to me! :) Thanks!
Click here! The lady who I bought the house from was a world famous sky diver and she died base jumping.
Here is the story...very sad...and the picture on the right was a clip from a documentary made about her last jump. I thought it was interesting that the TV-G rating is shown as she jumps and her chute doesn't open. I guess that is G-Rated these days.

ohmygosh!! That video is SO crazy!! I seriously thought that the guy was going to crash into the mountain.
And the story about the previous owner of your house... that is so unbelievably sad. Can you imagine watching your spouse fall to their death? Goodness gracious!! =( I don't want to think about it...
Hi David,
Wow, talk about a small world!?! I am an aspiring photographer and have been following OSP and your blog for some time now. I'm also a long-time active BASE jumper that knew Jan. After she passed, I met her husband Tom and have traveled to a few spots in the world with him. What a total surprise to see two completely independent things tie together like this!
At any rate, I'm a big fan of your work and your outlook on life. Keep up the inspiration!
Many Blessings,
Bryan
Bryan, wow! What a trip you knew them! I just watched the documentary on them tonight and it was really crazy thinking that they used to live here! I hear he's in Hawaii or something now. He wasn't happy about the sale of the house because we bargained down quite a bit :) - Over a million actually so he might not be too fond of me! hehe....
I watched her on that jump. I was on a back packing trip to Yosemite with three friends during a Westmont 4-day and we saw her jump off and her shoot not open. We were pretty far away but was one of the saddest things I ever witnessed.
That's crazy Kevin! Did you tell me that! I don't think I remembered! When you come up to the house I'll show you the video footage from the documentary and I'm sure you'll recognize it!
as a powered aircraft and glider pilot, that video amazes me and scares the crap out of me at the same time. just knowing what kind of conditions can be encountered by cliffs and in canyons like that makes my stomach turn seeing those guys so close to the walls... but it's cool nonetheless.
Ok DJ when you will try a challenge like this ???? LOL
Vick
DJ - I saw that same video of the gliders and posted it on my blog. My hands were sweating just watching it.
OMG! That is INSANE!
Maybe you should pick up base jumping as your hobby DJ! ;) lol!
First thing I thought of was OH WOW I gotta send DJ this.... bet that him and his friends, Mike C., Mike L., Dane, Becker and all them could really get into this sport! :)
