Sarah Barlow wins the DJ blog award which is a very prestigious award that you definitely want to win.
She has tons of media on her blog and she has it on there in a way that's easy to watch! She has embedded 7 Showit Web Slideshow and has embedded YouTube videos to watch right there on the blog as well. You don't need to scroll scroll scroll and get a headache or anything. Just click and enjoy! :)
Check it out!

Okay...where can I find the famous Sarah Anne laugh on her blog? ;)
I might be able to provide that. She would never know that I'm recording.

Haha! Thanks so much DJ:)
...yeah..I'm just to lazy to upload that many pictures so showit makes it a TON better! lol!
Dan...that will be in the 2.0 version...;)jk LOL
Hi DJ...I've heard so much about you! Sarah's site is amazing, and I'm so blessed to be able to work with her this year and learn everything she knows!
I have to be honest - I'm really torn about using the slideshows on my blog. It's great that people can view everything in one place and that the images aren't click 'n' dragable.. AND that it would completely eliminate another step in posting the images to the blog (since I usually make my slideshows first).
However, there are a few things that have stopped me from going with flash slideshows on my blog. 1- Lo-fi compatibility. As unimaginable as it is, there are still people out there who want a lo-fi version of images to look at because for whatever crazy reason, they're still on dial-up or DSL - so the blog is a place where they can feel like they have speed. ;)
2- I don't want to host the slideshow forever, but don't want the blog to lose content when I stop hosting the slideshow. Now, this could be an advantage to some people- but I like to allow my clients to look back at my previous work even after the slideshow has gone off-line.
3- Feed readers. For some reason, YouTube videos will show up in FeedReaders, but embedded Show-It slideshows will not... so sad. :(
I think it's a great idea for some people!! It's also great to consider why not to as well. I'm definitely going to be using the embed feature elsewhere though- still working on that little project!!
Hey Anne :)
Good things to consider. Here's my advice...
1. As for the dial-up - I'd really suggest you not worry about these people and certainly don't focus your marketing towards those people. Marketing that goes after everybody - gets nobody! :)
2. Blogs are about getting across current info...not the past. Rarely do people read the archives...
3. We'll see what we can do about that...
Seems like you've found a few reasons that are holding you back but in my opinion the reasons to include slideshows far outweigh them.
Rock on!
DJ
